LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Jackson's brother says it's believed that the pop star died of cardiac arrest.
Jermaine Jackson cautioned at a hospital press conference Thursday that the cause of his death would not be known until an autopsy was performed.
He said Michael Jackson's personal doctor and paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his rented home in Holmby Hills. A team of doctors at UCLA Medical Center also tried for more than an hour.
Los Angeles police Lt. Gregg Strenk said at a separate news conference that police robbery-homicide detectives have been ordered to investigate, which is common in a high-profile case. Strenk says the coroner's office, which will handle inquiries into the type of death, is taking possession of the body.

Come on Clay, either you've got a man-crush on Adam, or you want to solidify your position as Idol's most successful gay participant. I've always wondered about Kelly Clarkson but until her door swings open you'll still be the champ, Clay.
Adam Lambert is a strange dude for sure but Clay still takes the cake in that respect too. At least Adam seems to embrace his sexuality, whereas Clay just denied he was gay for the longest time. I suppose Clay just wanted to make enough money for the rest of his life before turning his back on the 'Claymates'. Speaking of the 'Claymates', if you called yourself a 'Claymate' wouldn't you be gay too?

Who knew I had so much influence and that my words and opinion mattered so much to so many people!?!?! HA HA HA I'll be the first to admit that my opinion is just that, only my opinion, but for as much as some of the bloggers seem to dislike me and care so little about my thoughts, they sure can waste a lot of their space on what I say! If only many of them took the time to pay attention to important things like the US economy and the welfare of the world's children. But... nah... I could blog about that type of stuff anytime and most wouldn't think twice, but let me say something that they can pick and choose quotes and misinterpret me... and it's showtime! I never assumed my opinion mattered so much! I guess I may have been wrong.
That said, since my previous blog got dissected like a biology lab frog, i suppose I should clarify and even retract some of what I wrote.
I am sure that some were upset by my choice of words describing my opinion of a performance I heard from Adam Lambert. I hope no one actually believed that blood truly poured forth from my ears when I heard him. I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard. Any performer hopes that their music will appeal to all people, but no singer realistically expects it to. God knows, I am SURE there are PLENTY of people who can't stand to hear me sing either. I wouldn't dream of assuming that, and I am sure that far worse things have been said about my performances than I would even venture to type here. To me, that's fine. I don't expect unanimous, nor even majority support for my music. But, my guess is Adam doesn't either. I would not venture to make judgements on the personality or demeanor of anyone I don't know, so none of what I said in my previous blog was directed as a "slam" on Adam as a person. At the same time, I wouldn't dream of slamming him as an entertainer. He does what he does, because he enjoys it, and he obviously has many fans who enjoy it as well. More . . .
Eminem's 'Beautiful' Hits iTunes
'It's the best song out of that batch that I did when I wasn't sober,' Em tells Vibe of the melancholy track.
By Jayson Rodriguez
Eminem has gone on record about his battle with drug addiction in interviews with Vibe and XXL magazines recently. Now, the rapper's song "Beautiful," which premiered on iTunes on Tuesday (May 12), paints a vivid picture of the struggle he went through during his hiatus from hip-hop.
It's one of the most heartfelt recordings in Eminem's career. The song appears on his upcoming album, Relapse, due May 19. In his first-person narrative in Vibe, Em said the song is the only one he kept from the recordings he made during that dark period in his life. He's been sober for a year now, he said.
"There's only one song on the record that I produced. It's a track called 'Beautiful,' " he said in the magazine's June issue. "And one of the only reasons that I put that track on there is that I feel like it's the best song out of that batch that I did when I wasn't sober. At the time I felt like, 'This is it for me.' I wrote the first verse and a half in rehab, and when I came out, I finished it. It was the only song that marks that period without bringing me back to that place. Every other track not only didn't fit with the album, but when I listened to it, it would bring up bad memories."
The melancholy song samples Rock Therapy's "Reaching Out" and features Em revisiting his decisions over the past few years and how his life spiraled out of control.
"I'm just so f---ing depressed, I just can't seem to get out of this slump/ If I could just get over this hump/ But I need something to pull me out this dump," he raps on the track.
Celebrities love Twitter, right? Just look around, Ashton Kutcher, Jimmy Fallon, P Diddy — they won’t shut up on it or about it. But not every celebrity loves it. Take hip hop artist Kanye West, for example. Apparently mad about people pretending to be him on Twitter, he went on a Peter Finch-style rant today on his blog about the service.
He specifically calls out the “heads of Twitter” a few times. Let’s see if @ev @biz and @jack are listening. Hopefully, he doesn’t have the caps keylock on for nothing. Here’s what he had to say:
(This spaz comes courtesy of losers making fake Kanye West Twitter accounts) I DON’T HAVE A FUCKING TWITTER… WHY WOULD I USE TWITTER??? I ONLY BLOG 5 PERCENT OF WHAT I’M UP TO IN THE FIRST PLACE. I’M ACTUALLY SLOW DELIVERING CONTENT BECAUSE I’M TOO BUSY ACTUALLY BUSY BEING CREATIVE MOST OF THE TIME AND IF I’M NOT AND I’M JUST LAYING ON A BEACH I WOULDN’T TELL THE WORLD. EVERYTHING THAT TWITTER OFFERS I NEED LESS OF. THE PEOPLE AT TWITTER KNOW I DON’T HAVE A FUCKING TWITTER SO FOR THEM TO ALLOW SOMEONE TO POSE AS ME AND ACCUMULATE OVER A MILLION NAMES IS IRRESPONSIBLE AND DECEITFUL TO THERE FAITHFUL USERS. REPEAT… THE HEADS OF TWITTER KNEW I DIDN’T HAVE A TWITTER AND THEY HAVE TO KNOW WHICH ACCOUNTS HAVE HIGH ACTIVITY ON THEM. IT’S A FUCKING FARCE AND IT MAKES ME QUESTION WHAT OTHER SO CALLED CELEBRITY TWITTERS ARE ACTUALLY REAL OR FAKE. HEY TWITTER, TAKE THE SO CALLED KANYE WEST TWITTER DOWN NOW …. WHY? … BECAUSE MY CAPS LOCK KEY IS LOUD!!!!!!!!!
iPod and iPhone owners may eventually be able to fill up their players using dedicated iTunes kiosks, a recent patent application hints. A traditional problem with Apple handhelds has been the limited means of loading new media; even following the advent of the mobile iTunes Store, the main method of adding music and video remains syncing at home. Using a kiosk, Apple notes, people could rapidly load players without a conventional network connection, in places such as airports, malls or hotels, or even within trains and jets.
Apple's proposal involves a hybrid kiosk, which could provide both local and remote media hosting. The local server would supply the media mostly likely to be bought, such as new releases. Shoppers could thus simply swipe a credit card and immediately fill their handhelds. To gain access to the complete iTunes library, users could login with their account information and download files through a dedicated Internet connection.
A dilemma with most media kiosks, Apple remarks, is that they rely on physical device connectors, which can not only wear out but experience deliberate tampering. Creating a Wi-Fi hotspot is an option, but brings with it new problems such as hacking and user overloads. The patent filing instead suggests the idea of a "virtual physical connection," in which the kiosk would somehow detect the presence of a nearby device and only then open up a wireless link.
Beyond iPods and iPhones, the technology could theoretically be extended to support computers and tablets.

Believe who you want. Twitter may or may not be possibly in late stage discussions with Apple about an acquisition (we’re going with no, though some have said otherwise). Now how about putting some money on it?
Last month we covered a Panama-based company called BetOnline that’s doing exactly that, allowing users to bet on which company (if any) will be acquiring Twitter in 2009. Things are apparently going well for the company, because it has just opened up another round of betting, updated with a new set of intial odds. And the money is currently on Apple, which is a 2-1 favorite for gobbling up the micromessaging startup sometime this year.
The figures are based on the closing volumes of bets from the first round ‘twitter acquisition’ market, along with input from BetOnline researchers who apparently are putting a lot of faith into the Apple rumors (or they know something we don’t).
Google, which was at even money for the last round, has fallen to 5-to-2 odds in the new round. Microsoft has jumped from 10-to-1 odds to 5-to-1. And apparently the bookies believe that someone is going to buy Twitter soon, because the odds for ‘no acquisition’ have gone from 2.5-to-1 to 4-to-1.
Here’s the full list of intitial odds. Note that these will change over time, so now might be your chance to jump on this if you have any inside info.

Eminem’s return to music has sparked loud enthusiasm throughout the Hip Hop world. In "Crack A Bottle", Eminem reunits with his mentor Dr. Dre and his protege 50 Cent in an attempt to takeover the rap game in 2009. With little promotion and no video, "Crack A Bottle" shattered digital sales records and rocketed the trio to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The track has become the biggest selling download single ever in the US.
The song, which is currently at Number One in Billboard Hot 100, sold 420,000 copies online in its first week.
Crack A Bottle should silence the skeptics who had previously suggested Eminem was done. 'Relapse', his upcoming album, is definitely off to a good start.
Metallica recently announced they signed an exclusive deal with Apple iTunes to sell its new digital box set, "The Complete Metallica" from its March 31 release date to April 28 through the iTunes Store. The Complete Metallica comprises the band’s entire 163 track catalog, including Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, Metallica, Load, ReLoad, St. Anger and Metallica’s newest studio effort, Death Magnetic.
Metallica is also including live tracks that were previously on iTunes with some of the band's full albums. Metallica hasn’t sounded this energized and dynamic since the band came up in the west coast's metal scene.
The box set will likely sell for roughly $150 or less. If you're a die hard fan, this boxset is your wet dream come true.
